About Aviva Building Management Inc.

To help property managers, boards and owners look after their buildings through planned, well-documented work, so buildings hold their value and are better places to live and work.

The B-MAL™ platform comes out of hands-on building operations. Before Aviva, our founder managed a residential building portfolio in Sydney: the budget, the contractors, the maintenance schedule and the site safety programme. The tools for that work were spreadsheets, inboxes and filing cabinets.

B-MAL™ is the record system he wanted then, built for the people doing that job now.

Aviva Building Management Inc. is incorporated in Manitoba under The Corporations Act and headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

We build the B-MAL™ platform for Canadian buildings, and for the rules and seasons they run under.

Aviva Building Management Inc. was founded by two partners, who are both directors of the company.

Fahmad Iqbal, Founder and Director

Fahmad founded Aviva Building Management Inc. and leads product development for the B-MAL™ platform. He has worked in building and project operations in Australia, Canada and Pakistan, including managing the residential portfolio in Sydney described above. He holds a Master’s degree in Business and Commerce from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Economics from the University of Bradford.

Fahad Iqbal, Co-founder and Director

Fahad co-founded Aviva Building Management Inc. and leads its commercial side, working directly with the property management firms and building owners who use the B-MAL™ platform. His background is in business-to-business technology sales and enterprise account management in Canada, including enterprise accounts across four provinces at Shaw Communications, and he began his career in on-site security operations in Manitoba. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba.

Buildings last longer when they’re maintained on schedule. The B-MAL™ platform is designed to make planned maintenance and repair records easier to keep, which helps owners get the full working life out of equipment before it needs replacing.
